Ringo's la ultima

It's always a pleasure seeing an expert at work and with some super sexy CAD images to start off his project log; ringo seems to be off to a flying start. While the purpose of the project is to practice his command of the English language, we're glad ringo has decided to show off his work on bit-tech, not least of all because for all its amazing looks, Ringo's la ultima at the moment just features a massively impressive reservoir for a yet unseen computer.


The base of the reservoir was quickly fashioned out of acrylic along with numerous other parts including these interesting red fins. We later find out that these make up moving sections of the reservoir, spinning round like sprinklers in a field.


Above we can see these parts fitted together along with a cylinder ringo made himself by heating a sheet of acrylic to 160°C and bending it to shape. A pretty successful job if we say so. We can see how this thing will actually work too, with each fin holding onto a brass tube which we suspect will direct a jet of coolant out propelling the whole contraption round in the reservoir. Some later videos show the reservoir in action and are simply awesome. Make sure you take a look at ringo's project log for the full set and other updates.


The engineering on show is second to none as well with some beautifully crafted parts coming out of the lathe. Above we can also see the reservoir filled with the jets submerged and working, spinning the reservoir round.



In some more recent updates we can see the bones of the reservoir enclosure coming to life. There's also an intriguing render of what the reservoir might look like too. We don't know about you but we can't wait to see this thing in action!!!
